Internet Speed Test
Check your connection before a remote support session. Upload speed matters most — that is how fast your computer sends screen data to our technician. We recommend at least 3 Mbps upload (about three megabits per second).
Why Upload Speed Matters
Remote support works best when your computer can send data back to our technician in real time. Download speed affects how quickly you receive files; upload speed affects how smoothly we can see and control your screen.
If your upload speed is below 3 Mbps, remote support may feel slow or disconnect.
Tips for Better Speeds
- Use a network cable instead of Wi-Fi when you can.
- Close streaming apps and large downloads during the test.
- Restart your router if speeds look unusually low.
- Test at different times of day to spot peak-hour slowdowns.
